今天下午放学后回来时，只见我家的车道上有一头母牛。真不明白它是从哪儿来的。到了房屋面前，才发现到处都是牛儿。

草坪上全都是，至少有二十头！

爸爸说，准是我们几个昨天下午慌慌张张地逃回来没有关上栅栏门，才让它们进来了。可我记得，我们绝对把门关得严严实实的。千真万确，我们可不想要那头公牛追进围场来。

不过，我跨过小溪到我们关马的围场去查看时，却根本没有一头牛——谢天谢地——要不，肯定会把米粒逼疯的。

我爸说，牛群肯定是在下面靠近房屋的某个地方钻进栅栏的；可问题在于，联系不上邻居马特，不能请他来帮忙一起把牛群驱赶出去。我们全家一起上阵去试过，可那些牛儿在我家的草地上到处乱跑，完全不把我们放在眼里。我想，它们准是很爱吃我家的青草，那真的是最好的牧草——这也就是我爱把火花带到那儿去吃草的原因。牛儿们呀，可别吃光了啊！( 文章阅读网：www.sanwen.net )

今天晚上，我站在阳台上，拿着电筒向下照射；只见一双亮闪闪的大眼睛瞪着我——那是一头母牛，刚好躺在屋子旁边。爸爸担心它们毁了我们的花园。不过还好，至少没看见有任何公牛。

我家的狗儿士巴只是一个劲地对着那些牛儿“汪汪”直叫。我觉得莎可也吓到了，不敢跑出屋子，不过这至少也阻止了他出去猎食野生动物。

他是最聪明伶俐最逗人喜爱的猫儿，不过最近一到晚上就很淘气。妈妈说过，从现在起，天一黑就要把他锁在屋里。

此刻，只听得那些牛儿“哞哞”的叫声此起彼伏——千万别把我们搞得彻夜难眠啊！

Monday 4 March

When we got home from school this afternoon, there was a cow in our driveway. We couldn’t work out where it had come from. But then when we got down to our house, we found there were cows everywhere.

They were all over the grass – there must have been at least 20 of them!

Dad thought we must have left the gate open yesterday afternoon and that’s how they got in. But I knew that we’d definitely shut it properly. We didn’t want to risk that bull coming in our paddock after us, that’s for sure!

But when I went over the creek to the horse paddock to check, there were no cows in there at all – thank goodness – or Millie would have gone crazy.

Dad said they must have got in through the fence somewhere down near the house. But the problem was he couldn’t get hold of Matt, our neighbor, to help him chase them out again. We all tried, but they just ran around on our grass and then pretty much ignored us. I think they love our grass. It really is the best grass – that’s why I bring Sparkle down to graze. I hope they don’t eat it all!

I shone a torch down over the balcony tonight and I could see a pair of huge eyes shining up at me. There was a cow laying down right by the house. Dad’s just worried they’ll destroy our garden. At least we couldn’t see any bulls.

Our dog Sheba keeps barking at them. And I think that Soxy is too scared to go out at all. At least that’ll stop him from trying to hunt wildlife! He’s the cutest most adorable cat you’ve ever seen, but he’s been so naughty at night time lately. Mom said that we’re going to have to lock him in after dark from now on.

I can hear those cows mooing. I hope they don’t keep us awake!
